Registration is closed

PURPOSE:
To engage Trainees across the state of Florida, to foster interest in the specialty of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery, to expand the FSTCS’s impact within the state of Florida’s trainee pipeline.

ELIGIBILITY:
Submissions will be accepted from Florida institutions from trainees (medical students or general surgery residents) interested in Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery. 

SCOTT BRONLEEWE AWARD FINALISTS:
The top 4 posters will receive a certificate of recognition as Scott Bronleewe Competition Finalist and earn a presentation position on the agenda at the 2023 Annual Scientific Meeting, July  20—23, 2023 at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo. Presentations will be on Saturday, July 22, 2023 and will be 5 minute PowerPoint presentations with 5 minutes for questions.  Finalists will have a reduced registration fee of  $100 to attend the meeting.  Travel and lodging expenses will be their responsibility, or may be sponsored by their school or program.

SCOTT BRONLEEWE AWARD WINNER:
Upon conclusion of the presentations, the committee will determine the Annual Scott Bronleewe Award Winner

SUBMISSION DETAILS:
Florida trainees will submit interesting cases and/or studies in an electronic poster format.  Posters will be submitted through the new FSTCS website at www.fstcs.org.

Format:
Posters need to be electronic posters submitted as a PDF of a  single PowerPoint slide. For an electronic poster to be considered, it must be structured using the following headings and information:

· Title

· Authors

· Objective/Introduction: The background information for a case or purpose of the study.

· Methods: Details of the study or case.

· Results: Results of the study or case including pictures/graphs/tables.

· Conclusions: Significance of the study or case.

· References

· Acknowledgements (if applicable)

· Contact information

· Disclosure statement

Deadline:
Due Date for submission will be 5/15/23 at 23:59pm EST . Decision for acceptance of poster and for Award Finalists will be determined approximately 2 months prior to the meeting.

Award:
$500 cash prize and Certificate of Recognition
